It includes an overview of program delivery, recruitment processes and training outlines.

Wellesley College's Center for Research on Womenis dedicated to improving the quality of life of school-age children, their parents, and caregivers, through research, training, education, and program development. The site contains details about training programs, publications, and links.
The National AfterSchool Association
A membership organization that supports quality programs for school-age youth in their out-of-school hours. You can find details of professional accreditation, plus the latest news, publications, and links.
Extension Cares for America's Youth
A national initiative of the Cooperative Extension System that improves child care and youth programs for infants and toddlers, preschoolers, school-age children and youth, and teens in out-of-school time. The site offers extensive research and resources.
The Corporation for National and Community Service
Strengthens communities by engaging Americans of all ages and backgrounds in service through Americorps, Senior Corps, and Learn and Serve America. This site carries the latest news and research on community service, with details of grant funding, service opportunities by state, jobs, and internships.
Afterschool.gov
Connects people to federal resources that support children and youth during out of school hours. This site offers detailed information on how to organize and implement programs, and provides links to community and youth-oriented sites.

Funds after-school research and programs, as well as a variety of programs and organizations that strive to promote a just, equitable, and sustainable society.
Americorps
A network of national service programs that engage more than 50,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. This site features program resources plus research and evaluation pertaining to their impact.
The National Network for Child Care
A Cooperative Extension System resource serving professionals and families who care for children and youth, offers thousands of informative child care resources, an email listserv, expert assistance and more.
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids
A national, bipartisan, nonprofit, anti-crime organization of more than 1,500 police chiefs, sheriffs, prosecutors, and victims of violence. This site offers special reports, legislative updates, and action plans that highlight the importance of after-school programs in deterring juvenile crime.
The Department of Education's 21st Century Community Learning Centers
This program empowers students and their families to learn new skills after the school day has ended. This site explains how the program expands academic enrichment opportunities for children attending low-performing schools.
