The New York Life Foundation and National 4-H Council are partnering together to develop a new approach to engage urban youth in democracy, civic engagement and community service. More than 90 new New York Life Youth in Governance 4-H Clubs are being formed in Cleveland, Minneapolis and New York City. In addition to engaging in their local communities through the clubs, teen participants are offered scholarships to attend 4-H’s Citizenship Washington Focus in the nation’s capital. This experience is the catalyst for the 4-H’ers to develop and implement action plans in their neighborhoods.
