Grants Overview
Grants Program

National 4-H Council offers grants to 4-H programs in local communities, in counties, and on the state level. These grants provide opportunities for young people and adults to take action on issues critical to their lives, their families, and their communities. Youth and adults work in partnership in the design of the project, the proposal writing process, the implementation, and the evaluation of funded projects. Grants are awarded to 4-H Extension groups and are not available to individuals.

Please be advised that grant deadlines are determined in conjunction with our funding partners. Once a particular grant is announced, grant proposals are normally solicited for a four- to eight-week period.

Other Opportunities

Applying for Grants and Awards

National 4-H Council has released a new grants portal, located at http://grants.4-h.org. This portal is a one-stop resource, housing a wide variety of funding opportunities and related forms (applications, reports, etc.). Grants and award information will continue to be available on Council’s program webpage, but this new system will be the primary resource for all funding opportunities.

The portal has been used for two funding opportunities thus far, and National 4-H Council has received very positive feedback on the ease of using the system and the convenience of viewing funding opportunities and completing applications online. The new system makes learning and applying for funding opportunities, submitting reports, and receiving information from National 4-H Council much easier. Questions and comments about the portal can be directed to 4HGrants@fourhcouncil.edu.
