Grant Judging Opportunities
Serving as a judge for the National 4-H Youth Grants Program is a great
way to educate yourself on the grant writing and evaluation process.
This opportunity also provides you with opportunities to work with
youth and adults with varying levels of expertise in the area of the
grant. Your time and effort during the judging process is greatly
appreciated.
Judges are provided with a copy of the submitted grant proposals to
read through and score on a matrix. The scores are submitted to the
grants coordinator at National 4-H Council and tallied in time for the
grant judging call where all judges for the grant will discuss the
grant proposals to determine which will receive funding. The estimated
time of commitment depends upon the number of grant proposals received,
but typically a judge can expect to commit one-half to one full day for
reviewing and two hours for the conference call.
