National 4-H Learning Priorities

National 4-H Learning Priorities provides learning opportunities for 4-H professionals that enhance program quality. This leads to positive outcomes for young people and improves the long-term success of 4-H. The National 4-H Learning Priorities includes five content areas with resources.

Building Effective Organizational Systems

This document identifies learning outcomes around the core competency of Organizational Systems as outlined in the 4-H PRKC. The outcomes are sequenced and presented for each of three levels of learner competence: beginner; advanced beginner and practitioner.

Volunteerism for the Next Generation

The National Framework on Volunteerism calls upon Extension staff to increase their knowledge and capacity to implement strong volunteer delivery systems at the local level. This web site contains tools to assist staff.

Essential Elements of Youth Development

The Essential Elements Training Curriculum provides resources to engage youth development professionals (e.g. 4-H agents/educators) in building the capacity of volunteers and to perpetuate the Essential Elements within programming practices. The training of trainers curriculum highlights each element along with an overview and wrap-up module.

Expanding Outreach to New & Underserved Audiences

There are five syllabi for the Equity, Access, and Opportunity learning priorities. The first three - Sensitivity, Awareness, and Communication - form the foundation on which the last two -Relevant Programming and Inclusive Organizations - are built.

Evaluating for Impact

An expanded syllabi covers 7 content areas to help with evaluation from the planning through the interpretation of data. In addition a rubric, a self-assessment and resource list support the syllabi.

4-H SET Competencies

Check out the new 4-H SET core competencies that are designed to be flexible and identify what knowledge and skills facilitators need to implement 4-H SET. There is the description of the competencies; a self-assessment tool and short cards that can be carried and keep the indicators close at hand.

The 4-H youth development profession relies upon a 4-H professional research and knowledge base to guide efforts when working with and on behalf of young people. 4-H Standards for Professional Development

The 4-H Standards for Professional Development act as a guide for developing, conducting, and assessing professional development experiences and resources for the 4-H workforce. They establish standards of excellence for 4-H professional development.
