Funding Information


  • Funding is open to any fiscally approved 4‑H Foundation, land-grant university (LGU), or county 4 H program. Funds will be dispersed to the 4 H System based on availability. Not all requests will be funded and/or receive the full amount.
  • Multiple funding requests are permitted under the following scenarios:
    • Option 1: You may submit one application with multiple projects requests (up to $15,000) per Foundation, land grant-university or 4‑H county program.
    • Option 2: You may submit no more than 3 separate applications per foundation, land-grant-university or 4‑H county program (up to $15,000 each).
  • These funds should support skill building activities, leadership opportunities and critical work from 4 H educators to mentor and connect to youth, especially limited resource and/or underserved youth, to support their well-being. Funds should also support projects that are diverse, equitable and inclusive and remove barriers for youth not normally served in your program.


  • September 30 – October 19, 2020 : Applications open.
  • October 21, 2020: Approval by the State Program Leader, Administrator or Foundation Director.
  • Program request must be achieved within 6 months of award.

Application Disqualifiers

  • Applications that do not address or respond to the question asked.
  • Applications missing State Program Leader, Foundation Director or Administrator approval.
  • Applications from entities (Foundation, LGU or 4‑H County Program) that are not fiscally approved or not under review for fiscal eligibility.
  • Applications that have an incorrect Payment Recipient, i.e. the recipient is an individual and not a fiscally approved entity (Foundation, LGU or 4‑H County Program) or entity under review for fiscal eligibility.

Award Requirements and Payment

  • 100% of payment will be given within 14 days of being awarded.
  • LGUs, Foundations and county 4‑H programs will be asked to commit to using the funds for the purposes described below.
  • A 1-2 page summary must be submitted at the conclusion of your 6 month period highlighting: number of youth impacted, a brief description of the project/impact and how these funds were utilized to reach limited resource and/or underserved audiences. The 6 month period will begin upon award notification.
