Learn About 4‑H Programs
4‑H is committed to kids learning by doing. Our youth development programs in agriculture, STEM, healthy living and civic engagement are backed by a network of 100 public universities and a robust community of 4-H volunteers and professionals. Learn more about 4‑H’s four program areas below.
4‑H agriculture programs are building the diverse workforce tomorrow ready to lead in ag-business while also educating youth on where their food comes from. These programs engage young people in agricultural science topics such as veterinary science, biotechnology, and raising and training animals.
4‑H science programs provide kids the opportunity to learn about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through fun, hands-on activities and projects. Programs are led by mentors who introduce youth to introductory topics or guide them through challenging computer science programs.
4‑H healthy living programs help youth learn how to lead lives that balance physical, mental and emotional health building well-rounded kids that champion wellness for their friends, families and communities.
4‑H civic engagement programs empower young people to be well-informed citizens who are actively engaged in their communities and the world. These programs help kids learn about civic affairs, build decision-making skills and develop a sense of understanding and confidence in connecting to other people.

Give a Clover
Give a Clover is a nationwide call to action for 25 million alumni and supporters to donate a $10 clover to provide 10 million kids with critical skills to lead for a lifetime and grow 4-H in more communities. 4-H is seeking a corporate supporter to match these donations and receive considerable visibility across all of our digital and social media properties with almost 700,000 followers and friends.
The Legacy Awards
Each year National 4-H Council hosts the 4-H Legacy Awards and is joined by its closest—and most distinguished—supporters, community leaders, advocates and friends for this premier event. This evening of celebration honors the accomplishments of both 4-H youth and the adults who make life-changing experiences possible for millions of 4-H kids.
Raise Your Hand
Raise Your Hand provides premier visibility to sponsors with 4-H alumni and friends as they are asked to digitally ‘raise their hand’ and support the next generation of 4-H’ers. Over 100,000 hands were raised in 2018. Sponsoring Raise Your Hand will help your brand reach new audiences through our digital network of over 700,000 social media followers.
Youth In Action
Youth In Action (YIA) honors four 4‑H’ers who have gained critical life skills through their 4-H experience and have utilized those skills to overcome challenges and epitomize 4-H youth empowerment and leadership. Storytelling opportunities for the YIA sponsorship are some of the most robust we offer through traditional, earned media and social media. It also offers unique engagement opportunities for leadership and employees.
4‑H National Youth Science Day
4-H National Youth Science Day is the world’s largest youth-led science experiment with almost 100,000 youth participating in more than 1,000 events all across the country each October. Sponsorship allows for both national and local visibility, thought leadership and turnkey employee engagement opportunities.
4‑H True Leaders in Agriculture
4-H’s agricultural science, STEM and career development programs are helping young people become True Leaders who see agriculture as a viable—and vital—life path. Members of the 4-H True Leaders in Agriculture are an exclusive group of companies and supporters investing to keep 4-H programs strong and prepare even more young people with skills to succeed in life today and career tomorrow.

Tractor Supply Company and JOANN Fabrics participated in 4‑H’s Clover Campaign, with the majority of funds remaining in the local communities.
- Tractor Supply Company generates almost $2 million annually through a 12-day Clover Campaign.
- JOANN Fabrics raised almost $250,000 in its annual campaign, creating over 55,000 loyalty card members.

Land O’Lakes and World Milk Day
To celebrate World Milk Day and spotlight our great dairy farmers, 4‑H featured photos and tributes to Land O’Lakes women in dairy farming on social media. For every like, comment or share, the Land O’Lakes Foundation donated $1 to 4‑H, up to $20,000. The effort reached the $20,000 goal and received over 20,000 social media engagements.
