4-H youth don’t just learn – they lead. Through hands-on adventures like the 4-H Dog Project, young people sharpen their skills in animal care, training and showmanship. Through a new partnership with ACANA®, that experience is reaching new heights. Recently, 4-H members from University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service participated in a behind-the-scenes experience at an ACANA™ test kitchen to learn about the care that goes into its food production process.

A new 4-H youth survey shows that young people value critical thinking, teamwork, honesty, and leadership as the most important skills for success in career and life. Whether 4-H'ers pursue careers in veterinary science, animal behavior, community leadership, or simply grow into responsible pet lovers, the lessons they gain through the 4-H Dog Project will help them achieve their goals.
